He is an experienced and qualified Trainer, and was for several years a Lead Tutor with the Institution of Railway Operators, heading up the IRO's Safety management team and taking students through the Diploma and Degree level Safety Law & Management (SLM) and the Emergency Planning & Major Mishap Investigation (EPMMI) modules. With the IRO he has also devised and delivered courses in Train Planning and Customer Service.
